Last year, one of our KW Mountain Bike racer friends invited some of his closest friends to celebrate his 39th birthday by running a short track MTB race around his condo complex. He called it the Dirty Nein. When some 50+ riders showed up, they decided it could not happen again in their back yard. So, we moved the race to Bechtel Park.
The KW Cycling Academy presents the first annual Short Track MTB race, bringing MTB racing to the City of Waterloo. The race will be held at Bechtel Park in the South End of Wateroo close to all amenities. All proceeds to support Youth Cycling in Waterloo Region.
Using the UCI short track format, the course is a mix of grass, single and double track, hills, log rolls, and jumps. The course length will be 2.0km as per UCI rules.
We will have area for team tents right next to the course.
Centrally located only one-hour west of Toronto and one-hour east of London, The Dirty Nein will challenge racers with a course across grass, double track, steep descents, jumps, log roles, and tough climbs.

Using the UCI short track format, the course is a mix of grass, single and double track, hills, log rolls, and jumps. The intended course length will be 2.0km.
Riders will corral 500m from the finish line and ride the start loop before getting on course. The tent area is off-course located by the parking lot. The mechanical zone and feedzone are after the finish line and located on the first climb on course.
We need volunteers to help make this a great race. If you have time available to help us out, please sign up and fill a time slot that works for you!
